What's the difference between buying a synthesizer(Korg M3) vs a midi controller with lots of VST's installed?

What's the difference between the 2?
It seems like whatever sounds a good synthesizer might have, can be reproduced simply with a ton of VST's installed with "any" small midi controller.

So where does the difference comes in?

If you're using only digital synthesizers, there's not a whole lot of difference. You'd be better off with a MIDI controller and a collection of VST's; you'll have more options. The only true advantage of hardware synths would be if you want something analog. VST's can't emulate analog accurately.
